My Teaching Philosophy

Teaching Philosophy

I believe each child is unique and special. I want each child I teach to know that they have the potential to succeed in anything they set their mind to. I will be someone who will believe in them and help them reach their goals. Every child is capable of achieving their dreams with hard work and a positive outlook. I will educate all of my students to the best of my abilities by providing them with the necessary tools needed for them to thrive. I will help children discover who they are and what they want to do in the future. I want children to respect and accept each others’ differences which I believe will make their lives more interesting and meaningful.

My role as a teacher is to give children the tools they need to accomplish their goals. I will present lessons that are interesting and relevant to life. I will incorporate themes, integrated units, projects, group work, individual work, and hands-on learning in order to make students active learners. I will teach children to become caring and active members of society. I will use a variety of strategies that will be beneficial to all of my students. By using a wide variety of methods and strategies, I believe that each student will have the potential to succeed.

Students are diverse and come from different backgrounds. I know that each student is unique and I will constantly be making adjustment to fit the needs of my students. I will do my best to not only get to know my students but I will also do my best to get to know their families. I believe that informing myself as much as possible about all of my students’ lives will help me plan the most effective lessons possible. I will get to know my students and their families by conducting home visits and by inviting families into the classroom. I will also integrate the community into the classroom as much as possible to help ensure that there is a sense of familiarity amongst the community.

My classroom will be a safe educational environment where each child can learn and grow. I know the importance of safety in the school environment and I will make sure to educate my students with the proper social skills that will help them become respectable and responsible members of society. I will use positive discipline in my classroom to promote attention on positive behavior rather than negative behavior. My students will grow to be responsible active members of society by giving them the tools necessary to become successful in life. I will make my classroom student-centered where the needs of the students will be the major priority. Students will have a democratic setting where many choices will be decided by them in order to further prepare them for the future.

Teaching has provided me an opportunity to learn and grow. My dream is to get students excited about learning. I will share my own passion for learning with my students to instill a love of learning in them. I am a strong and compassionate person. I am dedicated and excited about working with children. I am a person who always strives to be the best that I can be. I have had the pleasure of having teachers that have made an impact in my life and I wish to be that teacher for many students. My goal for them is to be prepared not only academically but in all aspects of life. As a teacher, I believe that we have a great amount of influence on our students, and I plan on using that power to make a positive and meaningful impact on their lives.
